As a fellow winding path-taker and career pivoter, I strongly relate. And sidenote, FYI, my husband is the CFO of a crypto-poker platform. Double-trouble!
I really enjoyed how you juxtaposed a seemingly irrational belief in yourself (at least from an outsider POV) with the objectively (or maybe widely held) irrational belief in Sasquatch. Also, I love the photo you used. I visit that location whenever I’m in Amsterdam. I’ve probably got dozens of pics of it on my phone. Anyway, keep up the good work, Lyle!
Taking German is not so weird for you. The parents and grandparents of your grandmother Elaine were 100% German. Some of which learned English as a second language.
I can relate. I've chosen a similar career path. I got a Bachelor's Degree, a coaching credential from the top school in the country, and worked on a ropes course as director at the zipline. I get bored easily and then move on to the next adventure. What hasn't changed is my love of writing and that even turned into a book.
I remember I once suggested that you “trust Lyle”. Either you always did and I didn’t see it, or you’ve finally decided to do so. Either way, I’m happy for you.

"I’m apparently allergic to a regular 9-to-5 job." Haha same.
