Good morning, or afternoon, or whatever it is where you live.
I’ve made the decision to publish my stories on Saturday instead of Thursday. They will still arrive promptly at 8:08 am PT, as per usual. I’m making this change because I’ve noticed a second wave of email opens and page views during the weekends. Plus, I think my stories lend themselves to being weekend reads. The first one will arrive this coming Saturday.
In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you.
Most of the time, this is a one-way endeavor. I write something. I publish it. And you (hopefully) read it. But some of you also tap the heart button to let me know you enjoyed it. And others write a thoughtful comment or send me an email reply. I’ve received email replies from all over the world—from my wife in the next room, a father in Spain, a mother in Vancouver, a writer in Nigeria, and many others. It’s incredible how writing online can erase borders.
So today, let’s get to know each other more. Hit the button below and introduce yourself. Where in the world are you reading this? Tell me a bit about you and your family or anything else you want to share. (I’d also love some audiobook recommendations because I’m doing an eight-hour drive by myself on Sunday)
Lyle! Tyler here, reading from Longmont or Boulder, Colorado depending on the day. As you know, our daughters face very similar challenges every day. I can relate to so much of what you write about, to the point where some of your content I could have written myself - not nearly as elegantly as you do, but our experiences overlap quite a bit. It's helpful to read and I'm grateful you and I connected. Cheers and thank you writing this each week!
Hello, this is Chandler having newly moved to Fairfield, CA. I met Lyle when we worked on more compression by covering it more with his chest (golf speak). He was the only student who offered to prepay for future lessons when covid hit. I'll never forget that. I hope we can get out and play again, I have a better understanding of how valuable that time was for us. Enjoy Bandon!
I am Dorie Quist and related to you Lyle. Your Grandmother Elaine was a sister to my Mother Lorraine and also my Godmother. I've known your Mother and you since childhood. I live in the (sometimes) frozen tundra of central Wisconsin. Go Packers! I have lived here most of my life but did live a few years in Belgrade, what was then Yugoslavia and also on the north end of London, England. I loved it there but Wisconsin is home, and home is always the best. I would dearly love it if you and your family could visit here and experience your roots. You are welcome anytime!
Your writings are so interesting and capture my attention immediately. Jim (my husband of 37 years) and I moved to Las Vegas 23 years ago. We have seen the city grow and mature into a desirable place to live. We have met folks from so many different states and countries and welcome the diversities. I hope you and your family are in good health.
