Interactions with random humans...a remarkably overlooked and relatable mild annoyance, not annoyance. While I do not face the magnitude of your challenges, living on an tiny island often means days when the only conversations I have are with the deer in my backyard or seals when I kayak. Especially true in the pandemic. Yesterday I was psyched to chit chat with the library ladies when I donated old books for their upcoming book and bake sale.
Lost my best friend two weeks ago to an unforeseen and sudden health crisis, and suddenly, all those things that formerly annoyed me don't mean anything. I think when we must edge closer to that cliff, which marks terror, strife or death, we find ourselves in a zone where bullshit no longer exists. And as nice as that sounds, I'd much rather be dealing with the BS, too. Wishing you better days, friend.
Beautifully written, Lyle. ❤️ It’s crazy what we take for granted (or even miss.)
❤️
Making music will help. 🙂
I just played my bass for like an hour and it was great!
Good. Keep at it. 🙂
Stoked to hear about that bass amp! Playing music seems like the perfect form of catharsis you need and deserve right now!
I totally agree. It’s one of those things that’s been on my mind for awhile but I finally pulled the trigger.
I hear you on all this and at some point I'll talk to you about it. All I'll say is you're not alone in feeling as you do.
Thank you, Huw!
This type of mindset has helped me tremendously. Always thankful :)
We must be thankful for all our annoyances. :)
We should only be so lucky as to have the gift of being able to be annoyed

Sounds like you live in a lovely place! The pandemic certainly uprooted how we all interact with each other.

Well said, Lyndsey. Sorry for your loss ❤️
